Hi everyone & happy new year! 🙂
In this post I will share with you my new method to relax & unwind! 🙂 This is something I personally want to do at least once a week, take some time to myself, sit down & try and relax for at least 30 minutes.
This is something I personally struggle with, I love to fill my diary and stay busy all the time!! & if I am not doing something productive, I feel so guilty! But staying busy doesn’t necessary mean productive & I don’t think I’ve been very productive lately despite being busy 24/7!
I also want to share with you what helped me to keep my negative thoughts away! I know we all have them and it is normal to an extent, but I know that my negative thoughts have consumed at least 70% of my mind lately and I need to do something about it.
Personally I’ve been super stressed lately – the past year has been extremely difficult for me & don’t worry I won’t bore with my problems but to sum it up, I’ve received bad news after bad news the past few months & instead of facing some of my problems I blocked it out until I couldn’t take it anymore and eventually snapped and broke down last week..
This made me realise that I haven’t spent much time alone the past 6-9months! This was MY RITUAL – something I wouldn’t allow no one to take from me – “Me time” was a MUST for me & now it is none existent! I haven’t had the time… actually, I HAVEN’T MADE THE TIME to just sit back, relax & reflect!
Therefore I decided to re-evaluate my priorities, morning ritual & buy myself a journal!
It’s been just over a week since I started writing and pouring my heart out & the difference it made so far, is unreal! I feel like a weight has been lifted off me, every time I feel down I make sure that I open my journal & not the fridge! Not only that but I also start my writing with FIVE things I am grateful for this day.
Practising daily gratitude is extremely important & makes us humans appreciate what we have. We often get carried away with focusing on things we DON’T HAVE and forget what we HAVE, and what we probably worked soo hard to get. I bet you, at least one thing in your gratitude list, is something you prayed and cried over months ago.
My priority right now is me, my downtime & my health & if I can do that then I know everything else will fall into place 🙂

Every single day my aim is to complete my morning routine, even if I have to do it before bed! 🙂
My Morning routine involves the following:
- 30mins-1hr exercise at home, which includes some yoga (while listening to positive affirmation or motivational talks – check out my favourite right here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K07tdf2vueM&list=PLPR76XIJIbjuC4AaJOoOdHc5jd5Jnyprj&index=9)
- & Practise gratitude
I also try and reflect as much as I can, whenever I can, this can be first thing in the morning or last thing before bed.
& Of course read my “daily reminders” to kick start my day with some positivity! These include some of my goals and favourite quotes and just things I sometimes needed to be reminded of, like ………
“ You will only get far in this life if you believe in yourself” 🙂
Going back to the reason why I am writing this post,
- My new method to unwind and relax is = colouring
- & what keeps me sane is = My journal
So my tip here is to make sure that you make time for yourself, in solitude, relax, reflect and practise gratitude as much as you can.
